Because we import whole logs and then cut them to the strict specifications required for musical instruments, we have a limited quantity of this beautiful and rare rosewood left over and available for other instrument use, carving, etc.Sizes vary, and we recommend that we dimension to your specifications to ensure top-quality wood and your complete satisfaction.
Supplying Luthiers with Top-Quality S.E. Asian Rosewood
We supply the highest quality of genuine S.E. Asian rosewood, which we source directly from our friends (licensed loggers and exporters) in Cambodia.
Our specialty, dalbergia bariensis, is a natural, jungle wood (not plantation-grown) that is prized in Asian but is extremely uncommon in North America. Bariensis is a superb tonewood, equal to or better than other rosewoods. It is ideal for high-end guitars, mandolins and other musical instruments. We also carry dalbergia cochinchinensis, which is very similar, but somewhat more magenta (purplish) in color. (The latter is probably the S.E. Asian species that LMI carried for a few years.)
